Fun and Engaging Virtual Summit

The Client Need

"We needed to convert an existing 4-day milestone summit from a live program to an engaging online program, due to Covid. The real challenge was building a virtual program that had the same sense of unity, camaraderie, and fun the live program was known for, especially since attendees all spent their first year at the firm working remotely and none of them had ever met in person."

The Design

An 18-hour over 5-days vILT program where associates transitioning to Yr. 2 gain hands-on experience in three common workstreams with guidance from coaches and peers. Immersive experiences were continuations of scenarios introduced in eLearning prework modules.

Audience: Associates completing their first year
Skills in Focus: An array of skills related to core client-engagement workstreams to achieve year-two expectations
Features: Virtual Instructor-Led Training (vILT), immersive learning-by-doing

The Details

  • Participants engaged in collaborative, interactive sessions – some with the full group, some in virtual classroom sections, and some in small team breakout work sessions.

  • Days 1-3 each featured hands-on projects in three different workstreams associates regularly contribute to, which provided practice with both technical and soft skills as reinforcement for some and first experiences for others.

  • Day 4 focused on practicing giving effective presentations.

  • Day 5 helped learners synthesize what they learned, culminating with a fun Family Feud game to both lighten the mood and reinforce program objectives.
