Creating Winning Proposals

The Client Need

"We were looking for a hands-on, virtual course to communicate a common core of best practices and tools/resources for proposal writing, as well as the opportunity for learners to practice creating client-centric messaging as part of the session."

- Professional Services Firm

The Design

A conversion of an 8-hour live program to a 3-hour vILT that gives participants confidence in proposal creation through hands-on practice creating messaging and a storyboard for a client-centric proposal and exploration of available tools.

Audience: Practitioners involved in proposal creation but not dedicated proposal writers
Skills in Focus: Identifying the client’s "why"; client-centric writing; storytelling; following a proposal writing process and leveraging tools
Features: vILT; case study; collaboration in Mural; scavenger hunt to learn about tools; identification of strengths in client-centric proposals

The Details

  • Learners receive context of where proposals fit in the larger pursuit process and a takeaway of tools and enablers to support proposal creation efforts.

  • Breakout groups organized by service line use Mural to capture client purpose, craft win themes, and organize a storyboard for a client-centric proposal.

  • Learners compare two service-line specific proposals to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, and determine which is most client-centric.

  • Groups select one proposal creation tool to explore and teach back to the entire group.

  • "We are impressed and happy with what you’ve created and appreciate your thoughtful approach." - Subject Matter Expert
